What if you could take your career to the next level in just 30 days? Is this the year for the promotion, new job, or career change? Use this ten point action plan to take your career to new heights. My challenge for you: act on one of the 10 ideas below today and everyday during the next 30 days and experience the extraordinary results!

1. Describe your goal in great detail – whatever it is. What will you be doing when you get that promotion? What about the ideal job makes it so perfect? How will you make a difference in your new career? If you can’t describe it you can’t achieve it.

2. Change your perspective. Does the thought of taking the next career step evoke feelings of anticipation, excitement, and fun? Or does it conjure up feelings of fear, stress, and overwhelm? It may be that your perspective all that is holding you back from achieving that next level of success. See your goal from another vantage point. Change your perspective, and your attitude, mindset, and thinking change dramatically. What seemed impossible becomes reality!

3. Write your rationale for why you are so ready for this next step. Identify anything and everything that supports your readiness to achieve this goal. Reviewing past successes and recent accomplishments builds confidence, enthusiasm, and clarity.

4. Act on your goal today. Brainstorm at least 21 ways to get there, and then pick one idea to implement today. Move those molecules around – it’s not necessarily important how you move them but rather that you move them!

5. Ask questions about the challenges people are facing. Probe, be interested and listen to their answers. The rule of thumb is to listen 80% of the time – people will tell you what they need and how you can help. Then act on what they tell you and watch your career take off.

6. Differentiate yourself. What do you do so well and so unconsciously that it is like breathing? Don’t just tell me – show me in a way that is memorable. So much so that when you walk out the door, I can’t get you out of my mind.

7. Deliver value from the get go! Build your reputation, increase your leverage, and guarantee that you will always be in demand by delivering what you promised and more. Go ahead, surprise me!

8. DWYSYWD. Do what you say you will do! Follow through.

9. Create a sense of urgency within yourself. Ask, “What can I do right now to make the most productive use of my time?” Do it!

10. Be willing. Be willing to manifest what you want. Be willing to turn obstacles into opportunities. Be willing to live your big, bold dreams.
