Here at Cher-Make, our QualityTechnician (QA/QC) oversees the production operations to ensure Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices are completed and acceptable along with any additional testing and quality control measures that are necessary to ensure USDA and customer specifications are met. What You'll Do:

  • Perform equipment calibrations and physical product characteristic measurements and compare to written specifications
  • Perform ingredient verifications based on written specifications and procedures
  • Aid employees in executing receiving procedure correctly and verify procedural compliance
  • Perform fat analysis sampling on raw materials
  • Perform line clearance and line setup verification
  • Help enforce GMP's, departmental SOP's, Physical Safety, and Food Safety practices
  • Conduct routine floor audits of production areas to observe employees, inspect paperwork, and verify adherence to product specifications, food safety procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Maintain poise and respond in a professional and respectful manner to all situations, especially while correcting observed procedural deviations and product non-conformances
  • Perform visual inspection of finished products, compare to finished good specifications
  • Perform sanitation verification and environmental swabbing under the guidance of the QA Supervisor.
  • Assist with HACCP deviations including root cause resolutions
  • Aid in the procedure review and update process.

What You'll Bring:

  • Ability to identify deviations from foods safety, operations, and GMP procedures and make adequate corrections in a respectful and effective manner
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex instructions and follow through on directives.
  • High attention to detail

Optional, but Preferred Skills:

  • An Associate Degree in Food Science/Meat Science or equivalent Quality Assurance experience
  • HACCP & SQF certification or experience
  • English / Spanish bilingual ability
