Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Summer 2024 Mission Assurance and Program Integration Intern based out of the Monrovia, CA location in support of the Software Department within the Deep Space Network (DSN) program. This position supports the NASA/JPL Deep Space Network (DSN) through participation in design and development of software applications and tools, performing test, transfer and sustaining activities.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

    Participate in implementation tasks from project inception through the operational phase.
  • Program high-quality web applications, provide documentation, gather requirements.
  • Provide a timetable and schedules for all development, test and maintenance tasks.
  • Identify operational problems by observing and studying system functioning and performance results; investigating complaints and suggestions; interviewing process supervisors and operators; completing troubleshooting procedures.
  • Perform the analysis required to troubleshoot problems and to help the DSN Project Office determine areas needing attention.
  • Skilled in performing effectively under aggressive deadlines.
  • This is a remote/telework position.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma and some advanced level training.
  • US Citizenship.
  • College student working toward a degree in Computer Science/Software, Data Science, IT, Cyber Security or related field.
  • 1 year+ of programming experience and algorithm optimization, preferably in a client server environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft development environment including C#, C++, PHP, ASP, .NET, SQL Server, Windows O/S. HTML5, and JavaScript, Visual Basic, Python.
  • Proven skills developing software documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Ability to work individually or in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in performing effectively under aggressive deadlines.

  • Capacity to adapt to change quickly.
  • Analytical skills, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment; proactive; innovative; articulate; able to present briefing material to customers during formal reviews; demonstrate good problem-solving techniques and skills.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and to prioritize work and meet quick turnaround.
  • Familiarity with Peraton/JPL documentation requirements.
