Summary:

The Systems Administrator shall provide system administration support to tasks such as mission data backup and restore, database maintenance, user account creation and maintenance (with government oversight), data archiving, performance of data integrity checks, communication-port configuration, security incident reporting, and field-level Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) instruction compliance (to include SW baseline upgrade support). This position is located in Beale AFB, CA.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

    Maintain workstation/server COTS operating system SW.
  • Manage user accounts for workstation/server access; work with the Information Assurance Manager (IAM) and IAO to ensure proper paperwork is on-hand for the accounts.
  • Manage print services and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for the printers where applicable.
  • Manage enterprise virus scanning SW and updates where applicable
  • Interface with higher authority for approval of user accounts and network access.
  • Create and manage user directories on the workstations/servers.
  • Monitor workstations/server logs for errors and failures and perform appropriate troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Perform workstation/server CM and properly document.
  • Perform backups and restorations of workstations servers, where applicable.
  • Support site visits to include those for accreditation and security assistance, and new system installs.
  • Document System Administration procedures and instructions.
  • Maintain network equipment (including HW and SW).
  • Notify appropriate maintenance control functions IAW local procedures prior to and after performing maintenance activities.
  • Perform HW Remedial Maintenance (RM), and preventative maintenance required to maintain the COTS equipment and assure GFE equipment meets user operational requirements.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies
  • Experience with virtualization technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Any associate degree from an accredited School/University or five (5) years System Administration experience
  • At least three (3) years of VMWare, Windows Support, Identity/Account Management Support experience
  • At least one (1) of the following: (IAT Level II Certs)
    • CCNA Security
    • CySA+
    • GIC SP
    • GSEC
    • Security+ CE
    • SSCP
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate certification or five (5) years of Microsoft experience (Certification).
  • TS/SCI security clearance
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field

The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 per year
