Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVE
The Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering, modeling, and transforming data with the goal of highlighting useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision making across the Mining Truck group and Bucyrus Regions.

JOB FUNCTIONS
Manipulates data and understands the underlying process details
Updates, submits and checks programs used for data manipulation purposes
Designs and participates in implementation, Q/A, and validation of data, software development or procedure changes
Troubleshoots and debugs system and/or data errors
Sets up, submits, checks and delivers special requests
Lead process tool design specifications and creates detailed documentation.
Applies knowledge and experience to identify and implement process improvement
Attends ongoing training to achieve personal, professional and technical improvement
Identify and make product improvement recommendations based on analysis findings and quantitative evaluation
Analyze all data to formulate trends and prepare reports, graphs, and charts to illustrate findings. Recommend policies for establishing consistent sources of comparative data.
Initiate benchmark studies to define customer satisfaction levels, market conditions, company image and the effectiveness of the company’s Issue Resolution strategies.


KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Detail oriented person
Good interpersonal and time management skills
Strong technical skills including SQL, and Microsoft office suite
Relational database experience and data analysis
Knowledge of the mining industry a plus
Effective communication skills
Well-developed multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment
Experience in identifying and documenting business requirements in a data warehouse environment.
Experience with master data management concepts and practices
Working knowledge of data quality management principles and best practices
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Experience in development implementations, data modeling or data mapping efforts
Experience in the use of industry architecture and modeling tools
Knowledge of data provisioning applying various methods including, Web Services, data views, data exports, reports, etc.
Experience in Data mining and integration
Experience in descriptive statistics, exploratory data analysis, and confirmatory data analysis
Knowledge of predictive analytics

TYPE AND LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:
Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years relevant experience, demonstrating working knowledge of statistical methods, process design and continuous improvement.
