Position Description

Purpose of Position:
To integrate the company’s safety, quality, health and environmental programs at assigned facilities in a manner that promotes 100% compliance with applicable laws, permits, policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Identify conditions and practices that could lead to injury, property damage, chemical release, business interruption or non-compliance through observation or informal and formal audits.
  2. Investigate injuries, property damage and chemical releases to determine root cause, contributing factors and corrective actions.
  3. Coordinate facility Management of Change reviews for all new and modified products and processes, including HAZOP and HACCP studies, as needed.
  4. Lead facility SQRA meetings.
  5. Participate in facility audits requested or required by external sources, such as insurance carriers, governmental agencies, customers or suppliers.
  6. Communicate facility safety, quality health and environmental issues, as identified above (#1-4), to local and corporate management through a written action item list.
  7. Perform employee training as required and ensure the company policies related to training are followed and all required training is completed as scheduled.

Qualifications:
 
A bachelor’s degree in engineering
Working knowledge of PSM, RMP, RCRA, CAA, CWA, DOT
Must be self-motivated and initiate continuous improvement
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
 
Physical Requirements
 
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to sit and type for up to 4 hours
Ability to travel overnight
Ability to wear a respirator
Contact lenses are prohibited in production areas
