Position Description

Engineering Project Management :


A small, fast growing company, whose mission is commercialization of a new welding technology and related robotic automation technologies, is seeking a project manager to assist in design, development, and manufacturing projects from concept to prototype to production implementation.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage projects from prototype to production for friction stir welded fabrications, including the development and implementation of automated equipment, fixturing, and processes.
  2. Review customer designs and specifications
  3. Direct and/or provide guidance to manufacturing and design engineers
  4. Direct or provide guidance to technicians and production associates for equipment and fixture installation.
  5. Direct, develop, or review control plans, work instructions, process logs,
  6. Create and maintain project plans
  7. Communicate and report to customers
  8. Manage procurement of purchase parts for production fixturing and equipment
  9. Develop concepts for and manage implementation of continuous improvement projects
  10. Communicate personnel needs (engineering, technicians and production associates) to upper management

Requirements and Skills:

  1. Minimum of 5 yrs experience in a manufacturing business in a project management role.
  2. Experience with automated equipment, specifically robotics.
  3. Experience with arc welding or friction stir welding and metal fabrication processes
  4. BS or MS in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline
  5. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project
  6. Working knowledge of CAD (Solidworks preferred).
  7. Ability to travel 10%
