Position Description

Westaff is hiring for Multiple Underwriting positions in the Appleton area. We are looking for 2 different skill and experience level individuals. Level 1 person must have 1 plus loan experience and at least 6 months underwriting or related experience. Level 2 person must have at least 4 years of underwriting experience. Degrees are not required, but are encouraged. Certification in the new SAFE regulations is not required, but must be willing to become certified. Positions are a direct hire opportunities but positions have a contract end date. Salary range is based upon experience.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing, analyzing, approving and underwriting individual consumer requests and products within company and industry guidelines
Dependent on position, functions may include reviewing credit applications, credit bureau information, collateral valuation, tax returns, financial statements, and or other supporting documentation to recommend/approve requests within deciding authority levels by way of automated scoring system or traditional underwriting.
Evaluating and examining transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Ensuring credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards.
Contacting customers and partners to gather information to make appropriate decisions.
Assisting with re-negotiations of loans based on lending guidelines.
Explain rationale behind credit decision.
